Composers of the Year
New for 2027 and in partnership with The Cumnock Tryst is our first compositions competition. The 3 winning compositions will be performed at The Cumnock Tryst in October 2027.
Information for participants
You are invited to compose a piece for:
- String Quartet (violin, viola, cello) and /or Woodwind Ensemble (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon) or any combination of these – duets, trios, etc
- You will be required to supply a notated score and a programme note for your composition
- Maximum length of your piece should be 4 minutes 30 seconds
- Submission date is 30 April 2027
- The winning compositions will be performed at The Cumnock Tryst in October 2027
- To prepare for your entry we will be providing a workshop.
