  • Our heartfelt thanks to the Mitchell family and The Brigg Inn at Lockerbie for their generous donation of funds. They held a music memorial evening and other fundraising events in their local pub, all in memory of Bobby Mitchell who had a deep love for playing and listening to music.

Please support SYM in whatever way you can!

  • SYM received a generous donation from the USA’s Gaudeamus Music Ministry in recognition of the time and talents of Paul Wood, whom they commissioned to compose music.

I'm excited to see Scottish Young Musicians flourish and expand. It will be an immense help and encouragement for the aspirations of thousands of young Scottish musicians. As they say, it's not the winning that counts - it's the taking part and learning a lot about oneself as a developing musician, being able to contrast and compare one's progress with one's young colleagues.

Sir James MacMillan
Conductor, Composer & Artistic Director, The Cumnock Tryst
